FAQ: Portfolio Page

Student portfolio page

A portfolio page is a web page that consists of a list of URL's of your portfolio: the web sites that you have created. This list of URL's is required by many employers as part of the hiring process. The list is also essential in selling your services as a freelance designer. Anyone who wants to hire you or promote you will be interested in seeing your portfolio. Your job is to provide the list in an attractive manner that highlights your skills in web site design.

A portfolio page consists of:

  • the list of URL's of the sites you've created or contributed to, preferably, with a description of the goals or challenges of each site
  • a link to your resume web page
  • the contents of, or a link to, your bio web page
  • original graphics or photographs
  • original text
  • contact information

List of URL's

Some students already have a list of personal or professional web sites to put into their portfolio page, and are encouraged to continue their work on these sites. Other students are encouraged to create one or more small web sites to practice the concepts taught in class.
